Footsteps Maple Cross offers a warm, nurturing and inspiring environment where your child can grow, explore and flourish. We operate from two linked sites, giving us the flexibility to support families with a wide range of childcare needs and we’re always happy to discuss hours that work for you.
Nursery (3 months – term after 2 years)
Based at Maple Cross Tennis Club on Denham Way, this site provides a homely, nature-inspired setting for our youngest children, with rich indoor and outdoor resources to explore.
Pre-School (from age 2 to 5 years)
Situated at Maple Cross JMI School, this setting embraces our love of spending time outdoors and offers a spacious, natural outdoor environment. Children build confidence, resilience and readiness for school here.
Because the two sites work together, we can offer more flexible session times and childcare arrangements than a single site setting. If your needs don’t fit a standard pattern, just get in touch and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
At Maple Cross Pre-school, we follow The Curiosity Approach which is a philosophy that fosters children’s natural desire to explore, wonder and make sense of their world.

Whether investigating natural materials outdoors, planning construction with loose parts, or exploring sensory and language-rich indoor areas. We celebrate curiosity as the spark for lifelong learning, and we see every child as a unique thinker, creator and explorer.
We offer 15-hour and 30-hour funded childcare places for eligible families, and we are flexible to discuss how sessions might best suit your schedule across our two sites.
Places are available for children from 3 months up to 5 years.
