Based in the grounds of Maple Cross JMI School, this freshly renovated, flexible and welcoming space, alongside the use of our own garden, the school field and large open spaces, ensures that your children have plenty of exercise, fresh air and opportunity to enjoy a healthy life style. We also offer all our children the opportunity to take part in Tennis coaching.
Maple Cross is committed to providing all children from 18 months to 8 years with a safe place for living, learning and accessing a wide array of experiences which are valuable to emotional, social and physical well-being. Our commitment to the principles of Forest School are key to the opportunities we provide at Maple Cross. Our aim is to equip our children with skills, knowledge and confidence which is designed to carry them forward into both their school and personal lives:

Our Breakfast Club
Children at Maple Cross JMI from Nursery through to children in Year 6, will be able to use our term-time only service. Breakfast club will run from 7.30am to 8.50am and children will be provided with a choice of cereals and toast. Children will be taken to class for registration.
After School Club
After school there will be sessions from 3.15-4.15pm where there will be structured clubs available These will include sessions such as cooking, drama, Spanish, art, lotions and potions/slime and forest school). There will also be After School Care available where the session is booked from 3.15-5.30. Children are also able to stay on in After School Care following any clubs attended. Costs include snack and drinks. Children will be collected by our DBS and qualified staff from School.

Manager at Footsteps Maple Cross is our wonderful Kathy Reynolds. With 14 years in early years settings – and 10 of those at Footsteps – our seasoned professional is an asset to both our team and children.
Kathy holds Level 3 / Forest School Instructor / SENCO / First Aid qualifications as formal additions to her breadth of knowledge and experience.

Zoe is our fantastic Deputy who will be very ably assisting Kathy at Maple Cross. Zoe, who is level 3 qualified, brings over 6 years’ experience from within pre-school settings. This experience in providing professional leadership and management, as well as helping to ensure that all children receive the highest standards of care and education, will be a fantastic addition to our dedicated team. Zoe is committed to understanding and ensuring the requirements of the EYFS and Ofsted are met, but is also a keen advocate of outside child-led learning and experience through free-flow play.
