Our founding site at Chalfont St Peter is conveniently located in the grounds of Chalfont St Peter Football Club. The former club facilities have been transformed into a bright, welcoming space for all of the children to enjoy. The nursery caters for children from 3 months through to school age and also offers before and after school care, as well as, flexible hours to accommodate parents’ needs wherever possible. Both 15 and 30 hours of funded places are available and term-time only places for teaching parents are on offer.
We are very fortunate to have access to the grounds and pitch meaning lots of outdoors space to run around on so we access to the great outdoors 24/7. The location offers plenty of opportunity for free flow outside play, sports, nature walks, and a Forest School area.
As a Forest School nursery, we run regular sessions for the children taking full advantage of our surroundings and the children also have the opportunity to access allotments so they can learn the importance of sustainability and healthy eating. We offer a homemade nutritious menu (available to all; funded children only additional charge) often incorporating our mini harvests.
We have also teamed up to provide Footsteps football coaching and holiday clubs.

One of our parents said “My daughter joined Footsteps at two and a half years old and all the staff made her feel so at home – even playing hairdressers over and over in her first nervous weeks! She developed a great group of friends, became very confident and was totally ready for school by the time she left this September.
My son is now in the baby room and loves his time there. It puts me at ease to know he’s nurtured and looked after by a brilliant team at Footsteps, who feel like a family. ”
At Footsteps Chalfont St Peter, our aim is that every family and child to take away lots of happy memories from footsteps and every child:
Jo has over 19 years’ experience caring for children with a wide range of ages and abilities. This invaluable experience comes from private day nurseries and working as a classroom assistant within school settings, as well as being a mum herself.
“I have a real passion for working with children and for continuously developing my knowledge to get the best from them. I have a level 2 and 3 in childcare and I have also passed a child psychology and families open university course. I am committed to ensuring that Footsteps Chalfont St Peter is a setting where the children are nurtured and developed in a family orientated and caring environment. The setting has allowed me to cultivate their experiences of the outside world. In particular, our Forest School offering enables me to help the children enjoy exploring their environment and adapting their skills.”

Debbie has joined us from a long-standing career in childcare. Debbie ensures that all children experience a wide variety of learning experiences, whether that be inside or out.
We hold a parents evening each quarter and provide daily feedback making you feel at ease.
“We have an open door policy at Footsteps meaning our parents are always welcome to discuss their child’s development or requirements. As a mum myself, my aim is to make Footsteps a home-from-home, ensuring from settling in my parents know their child is being well taken care of. Watching the children develop and grow into their own little personalities makes my job so rewarding, I love Footsteps.”
