Celebrating a Magical World Book Day at Footsteps!
World Book Day at Footsteps was a truly special occasion, filled with storytelling, creativity, and plenty of fun! We were delighted to welcome families into our Story Café for a wonderful Stay and Play session, where parents joined in to read stories and share their love of books with the children.
Throughout the day, we explored some of our favourite stories, bringing them to life with engaging activities. From The Gingerbread Man to The Gruffalo, Elmer the Elephant, and Fox’s Socks, the children had a fantastic time immersing themselves in these timeless tales. A standout moment was making some very messy recreations of Owl Ice cream!
One of the highlights of the day as ever was seeing everyone dressed as their favourite book characters! We had Peppa Pig, princesses, superheroes, and even some fantastic homemade costumes, including Thing 1 & Thing 2 from The Cat in the Hat. Of course, our wonderful staff and parents didn’t miss out on the fun, joining in with their own fantastic costumes too!
A huge thank you to all the families who took part and made World Book Day so memorable. It was a joy to see the excitement for books and stories come to life – we can’t wait for next year!
