Hoppy Easter from Footsteps!
At Footsteps, we’ve had a cracking time celebrating Easter across all our settings! This special season brought a flurry of fun, creativity and learning, as our children (and staff) got stuck into a whole host of Easter-themed activities.
One of the highlights was our Easter egg hunts, where excited children explored the gardens in search of colourful eggs. The joy on their faces as they discovered their hidden treasures was simply priceless!
Our creative corners were bursting with imagination during our Easter arts and crafts sessions. Children made adorable chicks, floppy-eared bunnies, and beautifully decorated eggs using a variety of colours, textures and techniques. These masterpieces are now proudly on display, spreading Easter cheer throughout our settings.
We also got messy in the kitchen, whipping up some delicious Easter treats! The children had great fun making chocolate Easter nests and krispie cakes, carefully spooning in the mixture and topping them with mini eggs. We also shared the traditional taste of hot cross buns, talking about the meaning behind the cross and enjoying them as part of our snack times.
As part of our learning journey, we explored the Christian traditions behind Easter, sharing simple versions of the Easter story and encouraging thoughtful discussions. The children were curious and engaged, learning that Easter is not just about chocolate, but also about love, kindness, and new beginnings.
We also loved welcoming families to some of our Easter picnics, where children, parents and carers came together to enjoy tasty treats, outdoor games and plenty of fun. It was a wonderful opportunity to strengthen our Footsteps community and celebrate the season together. As we headed into the Easter break, we wished all our families a restful and joyful time, filled with special moments and sunshine.
