Celebrating Father’s Day at Footsteps

At Footsteps we love celebrating the special moments that bring families together, and Father’s Day is one of our favourites! This year, we had an exciting lineup of activities to honour all the wonderful dads, granddads, and father figures in our community. Here’s a snapshot of what we got up to.

Card-Making Fun with Mums
To kick off our Father’s Day festivities, we invited mums & carers to join us for a special card-making session. This was a really special opportunity for children to think about what their male role models do for them as well as practice lots of skills. With a variety of coloured paper, stickers, paint and glitter, we worked together to create something truly memorable. Plus, it’s a great chance for our mums to engage in some creative bonding time with their children.

Stay and Play with Dads and Grandads
What better way to celebrate Father’s Day than by spending quality time together? We were thrilled to welcome dads and grandads for a special “Stay and Play” session. This was a fantastic opportunity for them to experience the fun and learning that happens at Footsteps every day. Whether it’s building with blocks, reading a favorite story, or exploring our outdoor play area, there were plenty of activities to enjoy. We believe this hands-on participation not only strengthens the bond between children and their father figures but also creates lasting memories.

Breakfast Treats at Drop-Off
We know that mornings can be busy, so we planned something special to make the start of the day a bit brighter. During the week leading up to Father’s Day, we offered breakfast treats for dads at drop-off. Just our way of saying thank you for all that they do. These morning favourites were the perfect pick-me-up and a great way to start the day with a smile.

Celebrating Father’s Day is about more than just the activities; it’s about recognizing the important role that dads and grandads play in our children’s lives. We were so proud to see all the creative cards, the happy faces during Stay and Play, and the delighted dads enjoying their breakfast treats.
