Comic Relief 2023
On Friday 17th March Children across our Footsteps family got their fundraising hats on and came up with lots of ways to support Red Nose Day 2023. Comic Relief believe that a just world, free from poverty is possible and that those closest to the issues have the best solutions. They partner with amazing projects and organisations that are working to tackle some of the biggest challenges society faces today.
Leighton Buzzard had great fun making some Red Nose Day Cakes. They loved mixing in the red food dye. They enjoyed some of their marvellous creations for snack and made enough to take home to their families too. There was a definite red theme to our tuff tray sensory play and we hope that our parents are not still finding red glitter!
At Oving the children got some extra time in bed (you are welcome parents) as they traded pyjamas for donations. The staff of course got involved too and it was fantastic to see the range of comfy cosies on display! They enjoyed their Red nose printing activity using apples.
At Maple Cross Children came dressed in red to raise much needed funds and enjoyed a whole host of themed activities.
Footsteps Watermead had an action packed day too and donned their finest red outfits and wacky hair! They enjoyed making some cakes with a secret red surprise in the middle. The children loved using the weighing scales. We had a red themed small world play activity and they children were excellent at knowing what all the red things we had found in the classroom were.
Footsteps Farnborough went crazy. The children and staff came dressed in their silliest outfits and craziest hair and raised a great total towards our final donation.
Footsteps Chalfont also donned their finest red outfits. They decorated their own red noses and made some brilliant red Nose faces. As with all our charity events we like to take time to explain to our children what the day is all about, why we raise money and who it goes to benefit. This is all done at a level that they can access and use to create a deeper understanding of the world around them.
A huge thanks to all our children and their families for taking part and helping us raise money for this worthy cause!
