Footsteps Farnborough Cooks up Top Award for Food Hygiene!
We are pleased to announce that our awesome team at Footsteps Farnborough has achieved a fantastic FIVE STARS for their Environmental Health Inspection!!!
Each local authority plans a programme of inspections every year and The Food Hygiene Rating Scheme (FHRS) used in England and Wales takes into consideration three important aspects of each food-related business and its operations: Hygiene, Structural and Management.
Hygiene – How hygienically the food is handled – including how it is prepared, cooked, re-heated, cooled and stored.
Structural -The condition of the structure of the buildings – the cleanliness, layout, lighting, ventilation and other facilities.
Management – Confidence in Management – how the setting manages and records what it does to make sure food is safe.
For each of the three elements scored, the range is from 0 for the best standards, through to a maximum (poorest) score of 25 for each of hygiene and structural compliance, and a maximum of 30 for confidence in management. These scores are then combined to give a final FHRS score which is used to calculate the rating. 5 being the top rating and 0 being the bottom rating.
The children’s wellbeing is at the top of our agenda as well as a healthy approach to nutrition in our provision of breakfast and snacks, and we are very proud that our setting has achieved the highest award in this prestigious and important accreditation.
Well done to all the team!
