Footsteps Nursery & Pre-school Expands with Two New Sites in Maple Cross and Bierton
We are thrilled to announce the expansion of Footsteps Nursery & Pre-school with the opening of two new sites – the first in Maple Cross, Rickmansworth and the second in Bierton, Aylesbury. These new additions demonstrate our commitment to providing exceptional early years education and care, while also offering families more convenient options to meet their childcare needs.
Maple Cross Site
Our first new site is located at the playing fields in Maple Cross, and we’re excited that this brand new facility will cater to children aged from 3 months to 2 years, complementing our existing pre-school site at Maple Cross JMI.
Opening its doors in June 2024, this site promises a nurturing environment where our youngest learners can thrive. With the added benefit of accessing the tennis club facilities, children will have the opportunity to engage in physical activities and explore various interests from an early age.

Bierton, Aylesbury Site
Our second new site is situated in Bierton, Aylesbury, and is set to open in September 2024. This site will welcome children from 3 months to 5 years, providing a seamless transition for children as they grow and develop during their early years.
Like all Footsteps sites, the Bierton location will emphasize outdoor learning and play. With plenty of space to run, and explore, children will have the chance to connect with nature, develop their motor skills, and foster a love for the outdoors.

Forest School Approach
Both new sites will adopt our Forest School approach, which has been a hallmark of Footsteps’ philosophy. Our Forest School ethos promotes holistic development by encouraging children to explore, learn, and play in natural environments. Through hands-on experiences, children develop confidence, resilience, and a lifelong appreciation for the natural world.
