Lighting up November at Footsteps
The beginning of November has been a whirlwind as we celebrated a world of colour. With fireworks and Diwali taking top spots on the calendar, we enjoyed lots of different activities which have brightened up our walls (and sometimes our clothes too).
Glitter, paint, sponges, hand printing, glue, coloured blocks and tissue paper were out in full force as we enjoyed our firework themed paintings and shakers. We also put some carrots to good use as the children loved our sparkler activity at Forest school.
Diwali too is the festival of light and we showed the children a special video so they would understand the importance of this festival in the Hindu culture. Our children’s talents shone as they made their Diwlai clay pots and lamps, did mark making in the colourful sand, messy play in pink foam and role played with coloured scarves.
It has been a bright and sparkly week we have all thoroughly enjoyed!
