Moving on at Maple Cross
So we have come to our last week of term and the time to say goodbye to many of our children going onto Big School in September. But the sun is out to help make our last week full of sunshine and smiles with lots of lovely activities
to celebrate our amazing group of children.
We have had a fantastic last few weeks of term, jam-packed with fun and learning, ready to equip the children with all the skills to help them succeed. We have been very busy, exploring all the themes and topics which bring our children’s imaginations to life.
A big one of course was the Football and we took the opportunity to celebrate all the successes of the England team. We dressed up in football shirts, enjoyed football themed small world play, designed football shirts in our arts and crafts sessions and of course learnt all the words to Its coming home (sorry parents!). Whilst it wasn’t quite the final celebration we hoped the children learnt lots about coming together as a country and as a team.
We continued the sporting theme with exercise classes from our friends at Sport England and a very special day of running and obstacle races for the children to enjoy. We have been spending lots of time in our wonderful garden, enjoying sunshine (and rain) and using our outside space to reap all the benefits of keeping fit and healthy. We have been running, climbing, balancing, digging and one of our favourites as ever is our bug hunting!
We can’t wait for a picnic party as the term comes to an end, to enjoy each other’s company, talk, laugh and eat some of our favourite food together. We will also be singing a very special original song so we look forward to sending a video to parents of this (tissues at the ready).
A huge thanks to all the Footsteps team that, as ever, go above and beyond to ensure our children get the very best out of Footsteps to take with them on their next chapter. We also wanted to thank our fantastic families for their support during what has been a very challenging 2021. We value and appreciate all of you and how brilliantly everyone has adapted to the changing regulations.
We will miss our children but know they will love their new schools. We also know we will see some of those staying on at Maple Cross JMI in our Breakfast and Afterschool clubs! Do get in touch at 01923 710818 or email us at MapleCross@footsteps-nursery.co.uk to book in.
