Oral Health at Oving
Here at Footsteps we are committed to supporting our parents, carers and families in looking after the health and happiness of all the children. Oral health is an important part of every child’s physical and emotional well-being. In line with our commitment to keeping physically fit and eating healthily to take care of our bodies, we also love
to create fun learning activities around oral health. Looking after our total well-being impacts on the ability for children to eat and sleep, to socialise with confidence and to concentrate.
We have really enjoyed doing some fun activities around this focus area. We have talked about how to brush our teeth properly, which foods are good and bad for our teeth, going to the dentist, and had a messy time with our oral health tuff trays. The children loved learning about looking after their teeth and we made a display board so that we could show our parents all the interesting things we had been doing!
Manager Natasha said “We love watching the children explore our activities and there has been some brilliant opportunities to develop language, physical skills, fine motor skills and role play as part of it. Oral health is so important and we were so impressed with how much our children knew!”
