Our First Footsteps: Little Footsteps Explorers in Leighton Buzzard opens its doors

Footsteps are thrilled to celebrate the opening at our brand new Leighton Buzzard pre-school this January. Based in the Scout Hut, this large, flexible and welcoming space, alongside the use of our open green spaces and amazing areas for Forest School (complete with fire pit), ensures that the children have plenty of exercise, fresh air and opportunity to enjoy a healthy life style.  This is key to our Footsteps ethos and enables them to access a wide array of experiences which are valuable to emotional, social and physical well-being.

Alongside meeting curriculum guidelines and experiencing other cultures, faiths and developing peer relationships, our aim is to equip our children with skills, knowledge and confidence which is designed to carry them forward into both their school and personal lives: As is the case when starting any new school, our brand new children have lots to learn with new carers, new friends and new routines and we are so proud of how they are settling.

All the children have been thoroughly enjoying the space and having lots of fun with our amazing team. They have already shown tons of enthusiasm for a wide range of activities – from playing in our role play areas, sharing snack time, running in our wonderful outside space (definitely a great way to keep warm!) through to arts and crafts and listening to stories.

We don’t know about the children, but we are certainly exhausted.  But we are so excited at all the fun yet to come. We have lots planned for February from looking at the theme of love for Valentine’s Day through to the vibrant celebrations of Chinese New Year and getting physical for the Winter Olympics.
