Sports Day Fun at Footsteps Maple Cross
At Sports Day this year, the sun certainly had its hat on too, as it shone down on a very special day filled with laughter, encouragement, and lots of energy! This much-anticipated event is always a highlight of our summer term, and this year was no exception.
From the moment we started practising our races, there was a real buzz in the air. Children of all ages threw themselves into the challenge with enthusiasm. Whether it was balancing beanbags, running as fast as their legs could carry them, or cheering on their friends from the sidelines, it wasn’t just about winning; it was about having fun, being part of a team, and trying our best. And that’s exactly what they did.
Watching our little ones give it their all during the practice sessions leading up to the big day was a joy to see and a reminder of how much they’re growing in confidence every day. The event itself was full of highlights – parents, carers and staff all joined in with cheering, clapping, and in some cases, even a little running of their own! It was a reminder of how wonderful our Footsteps community really is.
One of the most exciting parts of the day was getting a sneak peek at what the older children at Maple Cross JMI get up to during their Sports Day. It was inspiring for our pre-schoolers to see “big school” in action. It gave our children something to aspire to, and they came away full of excitement about what lies ahead.
We’re so proud of every child who took part, and we’re already looking forward to next year. Until then – on your marks, get set… keep having fun!
