Celebrating Father’s Day at Footsteps
At Footsteps, we know that strong role models come in all shapes and sizes, and Father’s Day is the perfect time to celebrate the dads, stepdads, grandads, uncles, and the incredible male figures who play such an important part in our children’s lives.
This year, our nurseries were buzzing with excitement as we prepared for a whole host of Father’s Day fun. Across all our settings, children shared stories and conversations about the important men in their lives. We talked about the things they love doing together, from weekend adventures to favourite bedtime stories, and celebrated everything that makes these relationships so special.
Behind the scenes, our mums, grandmothers and carers came in to help children create surprise cards and messages to take home. It was a real team effort, and such a lovely reflection of the family spirit we’re proud to nurture at Footsteps.
Our Father’s Day Stay and Play sessions were a wonderful highlight. We were thrilled to welcome dads and male carers into the settings. The children loved showing them around their favourite spaces – especially the craft areas, home corners, and the mud kitchens!
Together, we enjoyed lots of creative crafts, water tray activities, investigating our garden treasures, reading stories and playing on the vehicles. Outside, things also got active as children challenged their dads to a friendly kickabout on the pitch.
However, no celebration is complete without cake! Dads joined us for tea and treats, surrounded by laughter and chatter from excited children who were thrilled to share the fun.
To everyone who joined us, thank you for being part of our Footsteps family. Your presence, energy, and love help create the warm, inclusive environment our children thrive in every day.
Happy Father’s Day from all of us at Footsteps!
