Footsteps celebrates World Book day
On 2nd March staff and children entered into the spirit of World Book day to celebrate World Book day.
Book lovers all over the country were celebrating their favourite stories once again as World Book Day is back and marking its 20th anniversary. The annual celebration of authors, illustrators and reading is marked in more than 100 countries around the world to mark the wonder of reading.
There was fun and laughter as children at Footsteps dressed up as characters for World Book Day. The children were invited to come to nursery as their favourite literary character for the event.
They included figures from a range of books including The Hungry Caterpillar, Spiderman, Peter Pan, Frozen and Star Wars.
Manager Kelly Carter said: “We are celebrating reading and the joy our children get from having stories read to them. Enjoying books is a key element of developing their literacy skills later on. The costumes are amazing, so much effort has gone in to making them and lots of the children have brought their favourite book with them as well.”
