Recycling

At Footsteps we take great pride in our local area and we feel it is very important to teach all the children in our came the same.  We offer lots of activities which make the most of our fantastic setting and green spaces and we always ensure we are imparting the importance of respecting our environment. As part of this important area of our curriculum we teach our children about recycling, and how to recycle the everyday items we use at the nursery – paper, plastic containers and food waste.

Recycling is a great way to teach them about taking care of their environment, whether it be in the classroom, at home, or outside. Talking about recycling also provides the opportunity for them to learn about where products come from, how they are made, and how they can be reused. This simple activity also promotes letter recognition, fine motor skills, and sorting by attributes for our older children.  We hope you will continue to support the interest the children have shown by involving them in your recycling at home.
