An exciting day with ZooLab
Working in nurseries is all about creating a fun learning environment. Our team at Footsteps are skilled at doing just this – and we are always looking at new ways of gaining the immediate interest of the children, exciting their curiosity and covering many subject areas within the national curriculum. We were thrilled recently, to welcome Zoolab to Chalfont St Peter. ZooLab is a mobile animal handling company who are working with animals to amaze, educate and inspire. Their activities are great vehicle too, for delivering interdisciplinary learning.
Zoolab presented us with a great way a bring the children closer to nature and stimulate an interest in science and the world around us. From giant millipedes to snakes the children were able to touch and feel the animals as they felt comfortable to do so. The use of puppets was a great way to engage the children in the information about the animals too.
Footsteps Manager Kelly Carter added, “The children really enjoyed seeing all the animals. The Rangers were brilliant and answered all their questions in a calm and interesting way. They were also excellent at giving encouragement and confidence to those that were a little unsure. We would like to thank them for a very interesting activity.”
