Spooktacular fun at Footsteps Chalfont
It’s a ghastly tale of ghoulish goings on as Halloween week is in full swing.
We have some terrible stories of creaky craft, monstrous maths, freaky forest school, and witches potions.
We have loved putting the children’s talents to full effect – as well as the creativity of our amazing team – who we want to thank for all their dedication.
Never too young for spooky fun, our battastic baby room have been getting into the Halloween spirit. They enjoyed making spiders with sticky eyes, sparkly jewels, pom-poms and straws. Always developing fine motor skills, they used duplo bricks to do some printing on their pumpkins and black paint to create their hand print spiders. We love to cook and it gave us the perfect opportunity to make trick or treats and decorate Halloween biscuits! Not to miss out on pumpkin day either they loved our pumpkin insides messy play.
The children always love working with paint so we have done lots of perilous printing making bat prints and ghosts with our footprints – Trick or treat…… Smell our feet!
Of course we couldn’t resist the opportunity to cook up some curdling creations too. We made banana boos and made magic potions using green jelly, frogs eyes, snakes and wiggly worms. The children made spells to turn them into a wide array of characters including a princess, a pumpkin, a scary skeleton, and a massive lion.
During our pumpkin themed day we hollowed out and carved our pumpkins. We also made mini pumpkins for our snack from oranges, cucumber and used a black icing pen for its eyes and teeth. All the children were able to peel their oranges! We also made some delicious shortbread pumpkin biscuits! Mmmm.
We have had a frighteningly good time and hope all the children have too!
Stay safe this Halloween
